Nana Akuffo-Adddo absorbs WASSCE Fees for all final years Under #FreeSHS.

President Nana Akufo-Addo on Sunday, June 21, 2020, revealed during his 12th COVID-19 address to the nation that Ghana’s Coronavirus caseload has shot up to 14,154.

He indicated that this was after some 147 new cases were recorded on Sunday, June 21. The latest data also showed that the total number of recoveries remain at 10,473 and deaths at 85.

He also revealed in his address to the nation that, his government will absorb the full examination fees of all final year students sitting for the 2020 West Africa Senior School Certification Examination (WASSCE). “For the first time in our nation’s history, government will absorb the WASSCE examination fees of the 318,837 students who will sit for the exams.

H.E. Nana Akuffo-Addo indicated that a total of 318,837 students will benefit from the intervention which the government has estimated to cost Gh¢75.4 million.

Meanwhile, all final year SHS students, second-year gold track students will also resume school on Monday, June 22, 2020. President Akufo-Addo opined that in line with the new protocols to keep the students safe, a maximum of only 25 students will be admitted to a class.
