Chef Hilda Baci's longest cooking marathon record broken after just 5 months

Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci famously known for her record-breaking longest cooking marathon in June 2023 has had her record broken in just under five months by Alan Fisher, an Irish chef. The news was broken by the Guinness World Records Social media page on Instagram as well as X (formerly, twitter) on Tuesday, November, 2023.

Chef Hilda Baci was crowned the record holder for the Longest Cooking Marathon in June 2023 at 93 hours and 11 minutes. However, she has been dethroned by Irish Jake Fisher who has set a new record at 119 hours and 57 minutes.

The unprecedented news came as a shocker to Hilda Baci’s followers as they had thought that her record would have held a bit longer.  Fans of the renowned chef also tried to protest the new record as a result of earlier claims that one could only apply to break and a set a new record a year after the previous record was set. However, the official page of Guinness World Records has since debunked such claims writing;

“That was just a rumour, records can be broken anytime”

It must be a hard pill to swallow for the fans of Hilda Baci with the perceived short span of the record. However, will  Hilda Baci counter the record or will she let sleeping dogs lie?
